Volvo vehicles dominate IIHS safety testing
April 28 2022,
Volvo vehicles have always been known for the safety that they provide their owners. Volvo has always been known as a leading automaker in the field of safety innovation, dating all the way back to when the Swedish automaker developed the seatbelt which is now used across the world in new vehicles. It isn't surprising that Volvo has a long history of providing safe vehicles and it certainly isn't surprising that the Volvo 2021 and 2022 model lineup has earned the highest safety designation for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The IIHS is responsible for assessing the safety of all new vehicles on sale today. Through a series of challenging tests, vehicles are put through their paces and only the ones with the best results get the coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation. Every single vehicle on sale today from Volvo has received the top honors from the IIHS.
That means that every Volvo vehicle has received top marks in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, original side testing, roof strength test, and head restraint tests. Moreover, Volvo vehicles with a Top Safety Pick+ designation received Advanced or Superior ratings for their available crash prevention technologies. Last but not least, they also received top grades for their headlights.
