The Polestar 2: our ambitions given form
100% Electric. 100% Performance.
February 27 2019, Volvo of Unionville
Designed for purpose, performance and progression
The Polestar 2 is an avant-garde 5-door fastback, packed with distinctive design flourishes. A hollow, hexagonal gear shifter with an illuminated Polestar in the centre. Rear lights which stretch the entire width of the car. These details don’t just give the Polestar 2 its unique look. They’re also the intersecting points of form and function, establishing the Polestar 2 as a versatile, modern, progressive electric car.
With phone-as-key, intelligent seat sensors, and responsive accessibility, the Polestar 2 adjusts to the driver, as opposed to the other way around. No offense to your former cars, but the Polestar 2 is the car that really understands you.
There is no start button in the Polestar 2. The Polestar 2 powers up as soon as the driver is seated, the intelligent sensors in the seat signalling to the car’s systems that it’s go time. No more patting yourself down for your keys, no more flicking switches, no more searching for buttons. Up until now, you’ve just sat on it. Now it starts your car.
The Polestar 2 is the first car to come with embedded Google services, including the Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store in addition to a full suite of downloadable apps. These will be displayed at maximum resolution on both the 12.3 inch progressive digital driver display, and the 11.15 inch centre stack display. There's also voice control with natural speech recognition for hands-free operation, as well as a 360º camera.
