When is the best time to install winter tires on my Volvo?

Make sure your winter tires are installed before it gets too cold outside. If the temperature drops below 7° and creeps towards the freezing point, your winter tires will remain flexible while summer or all-season tires will harden, resulting in longer braking distances and less grip. Winter tires should be installed on your Volvo vehicle between mid-October and the end of October to ensure that your vehicle is ready to face cold temperatures and the eventual snowstorm that may be coming down the road.

How do I know if my winter tires are still good for another season?

A winter tire's tread depth determines how effective it will be. Tires with deep treads can evacuate snow while small grooves provide suction as they glide over icy roads. You want your winter tires to have a tread depth of at least 4.8 mm to ensure that they will last all season. Therefore, you need to check tread depth to determine whether they are still in good condition. and ensure that it is at least 4.8 mm.

How about winter wheels?

There are two reasons why you would want to install winter wheels on your vehicle along with its winter tires. First of all, if you buy a winter wheel and tire package, you'll be able to decrease the size of your winter wheels and winter tires, which means you'll be saving money in the long run by purchasing smaller winter tires. In addition, winter wheels are an affordable way to avoid expensive repairs on your summer wheels, which may be damaged by hidden sidewalks and other elements this winter.
