A look at some of the significant improvements made to the 2023 Volvo SUV lineup

There will be a lot of improvements to the Volvo SUV lineup in 2023. It began with the Volvo XC60 in 2022, which got more efficient, electrified powertrains across all trims, while other models like the Volvo XC40 and C40 Recharge showcased a new infotainment system based on Google technology, which is now available across Volvo's SUV lineup for 2023. The 2023 Volvo SUV lineup has undergone several significant improvements and here’s an overview of the most important ones for you.

A more efficient engine lineup

The Volvo SUV lineup gets a revamped powertrain lineup which was first introduced this year. A new generation of B4 and B5 engines will be available in the Volvo XC40, while the Volvo XC90 gets the new B5 and B6 engines, which were first introduced in the Volvo XC60 in 2022.

With their mild hybrid system, these engines provide better efficiency, ensuring the highest level of performance while also reducing the strain placed on the gas engine when starting or when accelerating. The end result is a gain in performance with improved efficiency.

The plug-in hybrid T8 engine is another significant improvement to the Volvo SUV lineup in 2023. For the XC60 Recharge and XC90 Recharge, these engines are paired with a more powerful battery, resulting in double the all-electric range. You can do the majority of your daily commute without even needing a drop of fuel with both models, which offer nearly 60 km of all-electric range. In addition, Volvo PHEV Recharge models now offer one-pedal driving.

Along with the changes listed above, Volvo will also introduce new Core, Plus, and Ultimate models in 2023, replacing the outgoing R-Design, Momentum, and Inscription trims.

Improved infotainment

A new Google-based infotainment system will be available on every Volvo SUV starting in 2023. Through Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation, and over-the-air updates, this new system provides enhanced connectivity. Additionally, Volvo SUVs will be equipped with USB-C ports starting in 2023.

New design

The exterior designs of some 2023 Volvo SUVs, such as the Volvo XC40, will be updated with new grilles, new headlights, and new color options. The 2023 Volvo SUV lineup also  features new wheel designs and interior options. For more information, give us a call today.
